One Day Course on “Is the Installation’s Firewater System for Process Areas adequate?”

Objective
This course addresses firewater systems for process areas with regard to greenfield and brownfield projects.
The aim is to enable the adequacy of a firewater system in an installation to be assessed in regard to its design and operation. This includes the optimisation and efficient sizing of firewater systems. Scenarios leading to firewater system surge, its associated consequences and solutions are presented.
Synopsis
The methodology for the design of a firewater system covering process areas for a greenfield or brownfield installation is addressed. Challenges with regard to expansion needs and modifications to the existing firewater systems for brownfield projects are also covered. Links include association with Fire Zones, F&G detection and C&E matrices. The functionality, availability, reliability and survivability of a firewater distribution system are addressed for the installation.
