Objective | This course aims to develop engineers and engineering practitioners in their competencies with regard to hazardous area classification and the impact on process areas from flammable fluids. The professionals will be able to interpret and produce hazardous area classification documentation. They can assess the suitability of equipment located in explosive atmospheres.
Synopsis | Principles in fire and explosion towards safety and protection are introduced. It provides the application and interpretation of hazardous area classification based on different codes and standards. Hazardous area classification concepts, methodology and technique are presented together with process equipment hazardous area radii. Ventilation in open and enclosed areas and their effectiveness are addressed. Product certification and equipment markings are addressed. Fire and explosion incidents and preventive measures are reviewed.
Target participants | HSE & safety professionals; electrical, instrument, mechanical and engineers of other disciplines; operation and production practitioners; supervisors and managers.
