Singapore’s workplace fatal injury rate remained at 2.1 per 100,000 employed persons in 2013, the same rate as in 2012. However, the number of workplace minor injuries has increased by about 10% each year for the last two years, according to the latest Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Statistics Report 2013 released by the WSH Institute. The report shows an increasing trend in minor injuries for the last three years – from 9,504 in 2011 to 10,469 in 2012 and to 11,467 in 2013. The overall minor injury rate correspondingly rose from 364 per 100,000 employed persons in 2011 to 384 in 2012 and 403 per 100,000 employed persons in 2013.
